In a significant development, police arrested three suspects involved in cow slaughter cases following an intense encounter in Gosainganj. The incident unfolded late Tuesday when law enforcement intercepted the accused near the Itkauli forest, acting on informed intelligence.
As the police surrounded the suspects, they attempted to escape, triggering a brief but tense gunfight. One suspect, identified as Afroz from Sirwara Sharikpur, was injured during the crossfire. Authorities also apprehended Mohammad Gulfam, alias Imran, and Azad.
The police recovered two country-made pistols and several cartridges from the scene. The injured suspect received medical attention at Jaisinghpur's Community Health Centre as the investigation continues, officials confirmed.
