Authorities in Maharashtra's Thane district have arrested two individuals accused of motorbike theft and recovered 58 stolen two-wheelers, according to an official statement.

The arrests come after a spike in motorbike thefts in the Bhiwandi area prompted police to ramp up surveillance. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Amarsingh Jadhav disclosed the details on Tuesday, revealing that a strategic trap led to the suspects' capture on Monday.

In total, 58 motorcycles and scooters, valued at over Rs 10 lakh and connected to 41 theft cases across the district, were recovered. Investigations suggest the suspects, Ganesh alias Ganu Raju More and Sahebali alias Chotu Sultanali Sheikh, are part of a larger vehicle theft network, with efforts ongoing to trace other accomplices, Jadhav said.
