Antisemitic Arson Shocks London: Four Jewish Ambulances Torched
Four Jewish community ambulances in north London were set on fire in an antisemitic attack. The Iran-aligned group Islamic Movement of the People of the Right Hand claimed responsibility. Authorities and community leaders have condemned the act, emphasizing increased antisemitic incidents following global conflicts.
Four Jewish community ambulances were torched in a North London attack described by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer as a 'deeply shocking antisemitic arson attack'. The London Fire Brigade responded with six engines and 40 firefighters. No injuries were reported, but the incident is being investigated as an antisemitic hate crime.
Responsibility was claimed by the Islamic Movement of the People of the Right Hand, a group with previous similar attacks in Europe. The Israeli embassy condemned the attack as part of growing antisemitic intimidation, urging for decisive action to prevent further escalation.
Attacks against Jewish targets have risen globally, with heightened tensions linked to ongoing conflicts. London Mayor Sadiq Khan has vowed increased police patrols. The government commits to replacing the damaged ambulances, which are operated by Hatzola, a volunteer emergency response service.
