An Israeli airstrike devastated a health center in southern Lebanon, resulting in the immediate deaths of 12 medical workers. This strike, one of the deadliest amid the resurgent conflict between Israel and Hezbollah since March 2, struck a facility run by Hezbollah’s health entity, the Islamic Health Society.
Israel's military strategy targets Hezbollah's assets and its civilian infrastructure to undermine support for the Iran-backed group. The focus has extended to various sectors, including banks and media outlets linked to Hezbollah. Allegations of misuse of health facilities for military purposes by Hezbollah have been denied by the Lebanese Health Ministry.
While the Lebanese government has labeled Hezbollah's military operations illegal, internal and external pressure mounts for the group to disarm. Despite intense clashes and significant casualties, Hezbollah has vowed to continue its struggle, framing it as an existential battle for survival against Israeli might.
