In their memorandum, the BJD alleged police inaction and administrative negligence, emphasizing a March 12 incident in Mayurbhanj, which sparked outrage among local tribes. They criticized forceful dispersal of the aggrieved communities and highlighted systemic gaps in ensuring safety and justice for tribal populations.
Party leader Priyabrat Majhi called on the NCST to launch a time-bound inquiry into the March 12 incident and similar cases, urging departmental action against negligent officials and recommending a new monitoring mechanism to rebuild trust among tribal communities.
