Shots were fired at a trader's residence in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone district, sparking a police investigation after attackers demanded Rs 10 crore.
Authorities confirmed the incident at Bhilgaon near Kasrawad police station, from where trader Dilip Rathore's family had received threats via WhatsApp and voice notes. Police have since fortified Rathore's home with security.
A social media post by alleged associates of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility, escalating the situation and prompting verification of possible links to other regional threats. Investigations are ongoing across multiple angles.
