Accompanied by his wife, Gitanjali J Angmo, Wangchuk expressed satisfaction over the government's decision at a press conference, affirming its intent to open constructive dialogues for Ladakh's future. According to Wangchuk, recent protests in Ladakh aimed to initiate such conversations, marking a divergence from typical conflict approaches.
Wangchuk, whose detention under the National Security Act was recently lifted, announced his plans to consult with Ladakh leaders. He emphasized that collaborative efforts are crucial, especially as local leaders engage in ongoing talks with the Ministry of Home Affairs focusing on demands like statehood and Sixth Schedule rights.
