In a shocking incident, Raj Kumar Chauhan, a former aide to a councillor, was allegedly stabbed to death by four unidentified attackers while on a morning walk near his residence in Gorakhpur.
The attack occurred around 5:30 am on Tuesday, merely 500 meters from Chauhan's home in the Bargadwa area. Family members rushed him to a nearby medical facility, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have detained seven suspects and are investigating potential motives, including a 2023 dispute. Politicians, including Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, have criticized the government handling of law and order in the region.
