Allahabad High Court's Intervention: A Battle for Private Prayer Rights
The Allahabad High Court summons Bareilly authorities following a petition stating denied permission for in-home namaz. This follows a previous ruling allowing private prayer without state approval unless it affects public spaces.

The Allahabad High Court has summoned the district magistrate and senior superintendent of police of Bareilly in response to allegations by a petitioner, Tarik Khan, who claims he was denied the right to perform namaz in his own house.
During the hearing, the court, led by Justice Atul Sreedharan and Justice Siddhartha Nandan, acknowledged the petition filed by Khan from Bareilly and granted the state's counsel time to respond, scheduling a hearing for March 23.
This case follows a similar ruling involving Maranatha Full Gospel Ministries, where the court confirmed individuals' rights to pray within private premises without needing government permission, unless the activity extends to public spaces.
