Battling Two Fronts: Political and Environmental Pollution

BJP Rajya Sabha member Ghanshyam Tiwari has urged for a dual focus on tackling 'political pollution' along with environmental pollution, while critiquing the opposition for their alleged disruptive tactics. Tiwari made these remarks during a discussion on the functioning of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Highlighting the achievements of the NDA government under Prime Minister Modi, Tiwari enumerated initiatives aimed at improving environmental quality and conserving forests. However, he lamented the repetitive 'political pollution' in parliamentary proceedings, aligning with Leader of the House J P Nadda's earlier accusations against opposition parties.

Further input from various members urged a re-evaluation of the ministry’s structure and strategies, emphasizing waste management and conservation. Inputs included calls for a strategic review and stricter regulations on issues like noise pollution, as well as educational campaigns focusing on river conservation for schoolchildren.
