Police have apprehended four suspects connected to the exploitation of a 21-year-old woman, who suffered being forcibly wed to three different men.
The victim's tragic plight came to light when she attempted suicide after being pressured into a fourth marriage. This was reported by Ashti police station inspector Sharad Bhutekar. Police have detained the woman coordinating the illicit transactions and her husband, amid suspicions of a broader trafficking scheme.
Spanning multiple locales, including Pune and Dharashiv districts, the case highlights a grim pattern of exploitation for financial gain, with the victim believed to be part of a larger trafficking network. Investigations remain ongoing as authorities work to unravel the full extent of the criminal activity.
