Rage-Fueled Assault in Thane: Man Suspects Affair, Attacks with Mutton Chopper

In the Thane district of Maharashtra, a troubling incident unfolded as a 35-year-old man allegedly attacked an acquaintance over suspicions of infidelity involving his wife, officials reported on Saturday.

The confrontation occurred in the Kamathghar area of Bhiwandi in the early hours of March 4, authorities said. Vijay Ragho Saha is accused of assaulting Neeraj Subash Saha, 20, with a mutton chopper, leaving him gravely injured.

The victim was initially treated locally but was later transferred to a Mumbai hospital for advanced care. Both men hail from the same village and were previously acquainted. Police have registered a case under section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, though no arrests have been made yet.
