In a significant crackdown, Bengaluru's Central Crime Branch (CCB) detained 124 Bangladeshi nationals reportedly residing illegally in the city. This action was part of a targeted operation conducted by four special teams early Friday morning, focusing on the jurisdictions of Kadugodi and Varthur police stations.

The detained group comprises 48 men, 42 women, and 34 children, all of whom were allegedly found living in temporary sheds. They have since been subjected to an inquiry, and a report has been sent to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for further action regarding their deportation.

The operation emerged under the directives of the Police Commissioner to address illegal residency amongst foreigners in Bengaluru. Collaborating with the Department of Health and Family Welfare, the Greater Bengaluru Authority, and the Department of Social Welfare, authorities have detained a total of 200 foreign nationals in recent days, with efforts to continue.
