In a bold statement, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized the Congress party for permitting the encroachment of 30 lakh bighas of forest land during its governance. Sarma highlighted efforts made by the BJP government to reclaim 1.5 lakh bighas and stressed their fight against entrenched Congress legacies.
The Chief Minister assured that no tribal homes were demolished during the eviction process and revealed that land pattas were provided to affected families. Sarma underscored that the BJP remains committed to addressing challenges including MMR, IIMR, and corruption left by previous administrations.
With the Assam assembly elections on the horizon, Sarma positioned Assam as a standout in India's economy, casting the BJP's transformative agenda as crucial to overcoming Congress's historical policies.
