In a significant development for the Nashik Municipal Corporation, all 16 members of its standing committee were elected without facing any opposition, an official announced on Monday.
The newly formed committee consists of nine members from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), four from the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, two from Shiv Sena (UBT), and one from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
These elections follow the recent January 15 polls where the BJP emerged as the dominant party, securing 72 seats. Shiv Sena trailed with 26 seats, followed by the Shiv Sena (UBT) with 15, Congress with three, and NCP with four.
