New Criminal Laws to Boost Conviction Rate to 80%
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the implementation of three new criminal laws will raise the conviction rate to 80% in the coming years. These laws aim to enhance case resolution and conviction rates. New initiatives by Delhi Police, including AI-driven CCTV integrations, were also introduced.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday revealed that the implementation of new criminal laws is expected to increase the conviction rate in criminal cases to 80% in the coming years.
Speaking at the 79th Raising Day Parade of the Delhi Police, Shah highlighted the significance of these three new justice-based laws, which replace the existing IPC, CrPC, and Indian Evidence Act. This change is forecasted to expedite case resolutions and improve conviction rates significantly.
The Home Minister also inaugurated several initiatives by the Delhi Police, including the commencement of the Safe City project. This includes integrating AI-enabled CCTV cameras into the surveillance network, enhancing security infrastructure in the national capital.
