Developer Arrested for Assault and Kidnapping over Property Dispute
A Kolkata-based real estate developer, Raju Naskar, was arrested for allegedly assaulting and kidnapping a tenant who refused to vacate his home. Naskar planned to develop the property into a high-rise. The police have remanded Naskar to custody, and a case was filed against him at the Beleghata Police Station.

A real estate developer from Kolkata has found himself in legal trouble following accusations of assault and kidnapping. The developer, Raju Naskar, allegedly confronted a tenant who resisted vacating a property in the Beleghata area, earmarked for a new high-rise development.
Police apprehended Naskar in Kalikapur and charged him with assault, wrongful confinement, and abduction. According to an official statement by Kolkata Police Commissioner Supratim Sarkar, a complaint was lodged against Naskar, leading to a case filed at the Beleghata Police Station.
The accused has been associated closely with West Bengal's ruling party, TMC. He was remanded in custody until February 19, as authorities continue their investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, the tenant's family, residing at the disputed property for decades, seeks justice.
