A 28-year-old man, Sarfaraz alias Faraz, wanted for a violent incident in East Delhi's Trilokpuri area, is now in police custody, officials revealed on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off, authorities captured him with a pistol and three live cartridges on Saturday in the Ring Road-Bhairo Marg vicinity.
Previously banned from entering Delhi for six months due to multiple criminal allegations, Sarfaraz continued his unlawful activities in the city. The case traces back to January 25, when Sarfaraz was allegedly part of a group that attacked a man with a knife and shot him near the Trilokpuri bus stand.
Authorities registered the incident at Mayur Vihar police station under sections of the BNS and Arms Act. Acting on surveillance, police arrested Sarfaraz while he was allegedly planning to meet associates. A new case under the Arms Act is now filed, with further investigations ongoing.
