An SUV carrying illegal poppy husk caused a tragic accident on NH-62 near Charkara, resulting in two fatalities and one serious injury on Sunday. The vehicle struck an electric pole before overturning, police reported.
The deceased includes Narayan Singh Rajput, a Charkara resident, who was struck while walking roadside, and the driver, Rajuram, who succumbed to his injuries during treatment. A co-passenger, Lalchand Godara from Ramsar, was severely injured.
Law enforcement discovered 60 kg of illegal poppy husk within the SUV, with investigations ongoing to determine its transport route. Authorities confirmed no previous criminal record for the deceased driver.
