CISF Inspectors Demand Fair Cadre Review Amid Career Stagnation

A group of over 500 CISF inspectors is calling for a fair cadre review, citing unprecedented stagnation with only one promotion over 30 to 34 years in their careers. This demand comes in response to a Supreme Court order for completing the cadre review of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) within three months.

The inspectors, initially recruited as sub-inspectors, face stagnation at the inspector level up to the assistant commandant (AC) rank, with many retiring after decades of unblemished service having received just one promotion. The officials argue this stagnation impacts morale and violates their fundamental rights.

A senior CISF officer assured that the cadre review process is ongoing and will be conducted fairly. Inspectors highlight issues like the reduction in promotion quota and non-compliance with cadre management guidelines as barriers to their advancement, seeking parity with other Central Armed Police Forces like CRPF and BSF.
