A 26-year-old man, Mukesh, suffered severe head injuries after intervening to stop a group of men from harassing women in Mehrauli, South Delhi. His attempt to protect the women turned gruesome when he was attacked by four men at a tea stall early on February 3.

Mukesh, a resident of Sangam Vihar, recalls how he was struck unconscious by a stone-like object. The attack continued until a bystander intervened. "I am very thankful to the man who saved me," said Mukesh. The women he defended bravely called the police and ensured his hospital transfer.

The Mehrauli police have since apprehended the assailants after a video of the assault went viral. They face charges including attempt to commit culpable homicide and insulting the modesty of a woman. The arrests were facilitated by CCTV footage and local verification by police officials.
