The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is implementing an ambitious plan to revamp the city ahead of the India–AI Impact Summit 2026 later this month. From February 16 to 20, the summit at Bharat Mandapam will attract global leaders, necessitating high standards of cleanliness and infrastructure upgrades.

Officials aim to ensure venues, transit corridors, and public spaces reflect Delhi's best appearance. All zonal deputy commissioners received directives for citywide beautification, involving removal of encroachments and illegal advertisemnts while ensuring regular garbage collection. Special focus will be on beautification with horticulture enhancements.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), also spurs a widespread branding exercise across the city. With operational deadlines set for early February, MCD officials are coordinating closely with multiple agencies to ensure readiness, establishing a 24×7 control room for summit emergencies.
