British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has issued an apology to victims of Jeffrey Epstein, expressing regret for appointing Peter Mandelson as the U.S. ambassador, acknowledging Mandelson's close ties to Epstein.
Starmer confessed he was unaware of the full depth of Mandelson's relationship with Epstein when he made the appointment in December 2024. He has stated his intention to release vetting advice received at the time, barring constraints imposed by ongoing investigations.
In his apology, Starmer addressed victims directly, acknowledging their suffering and the failure of people in power while promising to adhere to police requests not to interfere with the ongoing inquiry.
