Sabarimala Gold Loss: Allegations of Conspiracy and Political Interference

In a growing controversy, opposition parties accused the Kerala government of delaying charge sheets in the Sabarimala gold loss cases, allegedly leading to bail for key accused like Unnikrishnan Potty. Leader of the Opposition, V D Satheesan, claimed that releasing the accused was a deliberate move linked to political influence.

Satheesan highlighted that the Congress-led UDF suspects intervention by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), allegedly hindering the Special Investigation Team (SIT)'s work. He warned that gaining bail would allow the accused to destroy crucial evidence, further obstructing justice.

CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan dismissed the allegations as misleading, while BJP vice-president B Gopalakrishnan suggested political motives were involved in arresting Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru. The case revolves around misappropriation of gold at the revered Sabarimala temple, prompting the Kerala High Court to order an SIT probe.
