‘The Peacock’s Call’ Exhibition Advances Mission LiFE for Greener Lifestyles

The EIACP Programme Centre–Resource Partner at WWF-India, with support from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), is organising a three-day awareness and exhibition event titled 'The Peacock's Call: Mission LiFE for a Greener Tomorrow' at Travancore House, New Delhi, from February 3 to 5, 2026. The event is being held under the Government of India's Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) initiative and highlights the ecological and cultural significance of the Indian peafowl, India's National Bird.

Union Minister Visits Exhibition
Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh, visited the exhibition on Tuesday. He interacted with participants, viewed the exhibits and appreciated the initiative for creatively linking the conservation of the Indian peafowl with Mission LiFE and public engagement.
The Minister commended the effort to use India's National Bird as a powerful symbol to inspire environmental responsibility and community participation in conservation.
Strong Leadership Presence at Inauguration
The exhibition was inaugurated on February 3, 2026, in the presence of senior government officials and conservation leaders. The inaugural session featured welcome remarks by Dr. G. Areendran, Coordinator, WWF EIACP PC-RP, and Ms. Lipika Roy, followed by a thematic address by Ms. Nameeta Prasad, Joint Secretary, MoEF&CC.
Shri Ravi Singh, Secretary General and CEO, WWF-India, attended the event as Guest of Honour, while Shri Sushil Kumar Awasthi, Director General of Forests and Special Secretary, MoEF&CC, delivered the keynote address as Chief Guest. The inauguration concluded with the formal opening of the exhibition and a guided walkthrough.
Over 2,000 Visitors in Two Days
In its first two days, the exhibition attracted more than 2,000 visitors, including school students, youth, professionals, government officials and members of the general public. The strong turnout reflects growing public interest in biodiversity conservation and sustainable lifestyles.

'The Peacock's Call' underscores the ecological importance of the Indian peafowl while showcasing its role as a cultural symbol of harmony between nature and people. By blending science, culture and citizen action, the exhibition seeks to deepen public understanding of wildlife conservation and encourage environmentally responsible lifestyles.
The third and final day of the event on February 5, 2026, continues with educational sessions and public engagement activities, further strengthening Mission LiFE's message of collective action for a greener tomorrow.
