Justice Served: Family Acquitted in Acid Attack Property Dispute Case

In a significant ruling, a Delhi court has acquitted three members of a family accused of assault and an acid attack related to a property dispute. The court criticized the prosecution for failing to establish evidence beyond a reasonable doubt against Mridul, Rajni, and Yashpal.

The case stemmed from allegations that arose on November 5, 2015, involving a confrontation over a property and drainage issue leading to a violent dispute. The court highlighted inconsistencies in the complainant's and her husband's testimonies, particularly concerning the acid attack incident, for which no concrete evidence was found.

Additional Sessions Judge Pooja Talwar's judgment also pointed out the inexplicable delay in filing the FIR and the lack of forensic support to corroborate the crime scene descriptions. As such, the court concluded that the allegations against the accused were not tenable, leading to their acquittal.
