Corruption Unveiled: Patwari Caught in Bribery Scandal

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district has launched action against a revenue official accused of bribery. Mohd Hanif, the patwari of Tikri area, demanded a bribe to permit a complainant's construction project, according to officials.
Despite setting a trap for Hanif, he managed to flee after being caught accepting the bribe. The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, confirming the demand and acceptance of illegal gratification.
Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the absconding official as the investigation progresses. This incident highlights ongoing anti-graft initiatives in the region.
