Balochistan Under Siege: The Deadly Escalation of Separatist Violence in Pakistan

In a series of coordinated strikes across Balochistan, Pakistan, separatist militants have left the nation's largest province in turmoil, resulting in nearly 50 casualties. The Baloch Liberation Army's bold attacks on schools, banks, and security establishments have marked one of the deadliest insurgencies in the region, targeting close to a dozen locations.

The Pakistani military has engaged in a fierce counter-operation, reportedly eliminating 177 BLA fighters in just three days. Amidst these crises, accusations have flown towards India, with Pakistan's government alleging Indian backing for the BLA, an allegation India swiftly denied.

Amid the backdrop of these violent confrontations, the BLA's growing strength is underpinned by local support, sparked by unmet demands for greater autonomy and control over local resources.
