A legal case has been filed against taxi drivers in Munnar following allegations from a Mumbai tourist named Janvi, who claims she was harassed during her visit. The tourist, an assistant professor, shared her ordeal on a social media video, revealing how local taxi drivers allegedly threatened her Uber driver.

In the video, Janvi recounted that as she planned to leave Munnar with an online cab, taxi union members opposed her choice, insisting local cabs be used. She claimed they followed her and threatened the Uber driver as they loaded their bags.

The police, who responded to the scene, reportedly sided with union members. Munnar authorities have since registered a suo motu case against alleged perpetrators based on her video. The investigation continues as officials review police conduct and attempt to obtain a statement from Janvi.
