Indonesia Eyes Expansion of Airbus A400M Fleet
Indonesia is considering purchasing four additional Airbus A400M military aircraft to modernize its military. President Prabowo Subianto, a former special forces commander, is driving the acquisition as part of broader efforts to revamp military capabilities. The A400M can assist in both military and humanitarian missions, including anticipated support in Gaza.

Indonesia is in discussions to potentially acquire four more Airbus A400M military aircraft, as confirmed by President Prabowo Subianto. The acquisition aligns with the country's ongoing efforts to enhance its aged military infrastructure by procuring advanced hardware.
Speaking at a ceremony marking the arrival of the first A400M aircraft at a Jakarta air force base, President Prabowo emphasized the potential negotiation process. Since taking office, Prabowo has made concerted efforts to secure cutting-edge fighter jets and submarines in addition to the A400M aircraft, which can operate on minimal infrastructure according to Airbus.
The Indonesian military, with the new A400M aircraft, aims to bolster disaster response capabilities domestically and overseas. President Prabowo underlined the importance of aiding international communities during times of crisis, highlighting future missions, such as those planned for Gaza.
