Senior YSRCP leader Jogi Ramesh and his brother, Jogi Ramu, were apprehended on charges related to the production and distribution of fake liquor in Andhra Pradesh. This development was confirmed by official sources.
The arrests were carried out by the Excise department officials on Sunday and the accused were later presented before a local court. According to the remand report, the duo faced allegations of illegal manufacture, transportation, and sale of spurious liquor.
The action followed the discovery of sophisticated operations linked to the illicit production of fake alcohol, spanning several locations across the state. The brothers were booked under the Andhra Pradesh Excise Act, 1968, and the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition Act, 1995, among others.
