An alarming incident unfolded in Lalitpur district, where authorities arrested a man for reportedly killing his 70-year-old father amidst an argument regarding agricultural land.
The accused, Shankar Singh Yadav, allegedly struck his father, Sarnam Singh Yadav, with sticks on Tuesday night, as outlined by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kalu Singh. The attack occurred in Maharouni Khurd village within the Sadar Kotwali area.
Shankar, the deceased's only son, reportedly kept the tragic event hidden for several hours before reporting it to the police on Wednesday afternoon. Investigations reveal underlying tension over the impending sale of two acres of land, causing frequent disputes between the father and son. A murder case has been filed, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
