India Rejects UN's 'Blinkered Analysis' on Myanmar Amid Calls for Peace

India has issued a strong rebuke against a United Nations report criticizing its approach to Myanmar's human rights crisis, labeling it as a 'blinkered analysis.' The statement came during an Interactive Dialogue on Myanmar at the UN General Assembly's Third Committee, where New Delhi reiterated its call for an end to violence in the neighboring country.

Dilip Saikia, a Lok Sabha MP representing India, stated that the nation backs initiatives that foster trust and advance a 'Myanmar-owned and Myanmar-led path' towards peace and democracy. India strongly rejected the UN Special Rapporteur's claims linking India to terrorism, asserting that the observations were baseless and biased.

Amid growing concerns over Myanmar's political situation and its cross-border implications, India emphasized the need for inclusive dialogue and humanitarian assistance. The country continues to support ASEAN and the UN's efforts to peacefully resolve the situation, reaffirming its commitment to regional stability.
