In a shocking incident in Abbotsford, British Columbia, a prominent Indian-origin businessman, Darshan Sahsi, was shot dead outside his residence. Reports indicate that Sahsi was the victim of a "targeted incident," sparking a comprehensive investigation by local police and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

The Abbotsford Police Department responded swiftly to reports of the shooting on Ridgeview Drive, finding Sahsi gravely injured inside a vehicle. Despite first responders' efforts, Sahsi succumbed to his injuries. While initial police statements did not name the victim, IHIT later confirmed his identity.

IHIT spokesperson Sgt. Freda Fong revealed that the incident appeared to focus solely on Sahsi, with no other injuries reported. Investigators are now piecing together the events leading up to the shooting, considering all potential motives. A surveillance image of a suspect vehicle, a silver Toyota Corolla, has been released as part of the investigative process.
