Karnataka's War on Drugs: A Mission for the Police Force

In a bold initiative, Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has called upon the state's police force to eradicate drug abuse, setting a high-priority mission for the state officials. With the establishment of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Siddaramaiah envisions a future where Karnataka is free from the scourge of drugs.

The Chief Minister highlighted previous law enforcement challenges in Dakshina Kannada, noting improvements since necessary officer transfers. These changes, along with strengthened community policing initiatives such as the 'Mane Manege Police,' have bolstered public confidence in the state's police force.

Despite past successes in drug seizures, Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G Parameshwara acknowledged that narcotics continue to enter Karnataka through various channels. They praised the police's efforts and stressed the need for continued diligence to achieve a society safe from the threats of narcotic infiltration.
