An alleged mid-air attack on a Lufthansa flight led to its unexpected diversion to Boston Logan International Airport. According to American authorities, a 28-year-old Indian national used a metal fork to stab two teenagers during the flight from Chicago to Germany.

The suspect, Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli, reportedly attacked a 17-year-old male in the shoulder, then another youth in the head. The accused was arrested following the flight's diversion and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to do bodily harm.

If found guilty, Usiripalli could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison. He's also facing a fine and possible supervised release. Usiripalli's previous legal status in the US was as a student on a visa, pursuing a master's degree in biblical studies.
