Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has issued a stern directive to officials, urging them to ramp up the fight against drug abuse across the state. Speaking at a meeting dedicated to assessing the 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan' scheme, Saini emphasized the dual approach of rewarding exemplary performance and penalizing negligence among officers.
In his address, Saini underlined the importance of revisiting villages declared drug-free to ensure continued compliance, and he advocated for bolstering the presence of the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau, especially in border regions. He called for the inclusion of experts in teams to effectively control drug supply.
The Chief Minister detailed a comprehensive strategy that involves joint departmental efforts focused on enforcement, de-addiction, and awareness. He urged for the involvement of Panchayats as key partners in the initiative and demanded a thorough investigation to trace and dismantle drug supply routes, aiming to curb abuse and rehabilitate affected individuals.
