Maharashtra to Complete Land Handover for New Bombay High Court Complex by March 2026

The Maharashtra government announced on Monday that it will complete the handover of land required for the new Bombay High Court complex in Bandra by March 2026.

On July 21, the state government informed the Supreme Court of acquiring 15.33 acres out of the necessary 17.45 acres. Initially, Chief Justice B R Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran considered closing the suo motu case about the high court's current heritage building and land allocation.

However, the case remains pending for further review in April, as lawyers highlighted ongoing negotiations to relocate existing structures and noted progress on appointing architects and finalizing project plans.
