Chhattisgarh HC Initiates PILs on Railway Boxing Ring Liquor Party and Cattle Deaths

The Chhattisgarh High Court has taken serious note of news reports about a liquor party held in a boxing ring within the South East Central Railway premises and numerous cattle deaths in Bilaspur district.

It has initiated two suo motu public interest litigations (PILs) and demanded responses from the SECR general manager and the state's Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services.

The court order highlighted social media concerns about the misuse of the boxing ring, and officials must provide affidavits explaining the incidents before hearings later this month.
