BJP's Chaprana Suspended Amid Viral Video Scandal

The BJP has taken disciplinary action against Vikul Chaprana, its Kisan Morcha district vice-president, following the circulation of a controversial video showing him allegedly forcing a cloth trader, Satyam Rastogi, to publicly apologize by rubbing his nose on the road. The incident occurred after a parking dispute at Meerut's Tejgarhi crossing on October 19.

Criticism erupted across political and business circles, leading to Chaprana's suspension by Kisan Morcha regional president Teja Gurjar, citing conduct against party discipline. Meerut police, led by Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada, have launched an investigation, arresting Chaprana and three associates. The case has expanded to include additional charges.

In the wake of the video, opposition parties have demanded the resignation of Minister of State for Energy Somendra Tomar. The Samajwadi Party, Congress, and local business groups have advocated for stringent legal consequences to prevent future incidents and maintain public safety and trader confidence.
