A nurse at a private hospital allegedly jumped to her death from the seventh floor of a residential building in Gurugram along with her 3-year-old son, police reported on Wednesday. The tragic incident led to a dowry death case against her husband and in-laws following a complaint by her brother.
The deceased, Sharmila, worked as a nurse, while her husband Rohit operated a juice stall. The couple, originally from Mahendergarh district, resided in a flat in Siddharth enclave. Their marriage, marked by frequent disputes, saw Sharmila's parents intervening to resolve matters multiple times.
On Tuesday, after her family visited to discuss ongoing issues, Sharmila jumped off the building with her young son, resulting in their immediate deaths. Her brother alleged dowry harassment by her husband and in-laws, leading to the filing of an FIR. The investigation is underway.
