In London, a growing chorus of MPs is urging the government to explore the removal of Prince Andrew's titles amid ongoing controversies. SNP Westminster leader Stephen Flynn has spearheaded a motion, urging legislative measures to formally revoke Andrew's remaining honors.
Presently, only 14 MPs have signed onto the motion, leaving the government free from any obligation to act. However, the initiative sheds light on possible pathways to legally strip Andrew of his titles, an action driven by his widely publicized association with Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew's voluntary renunciation of several titles has yet to quell public dissatisfaction. His status as Duke of York remains legally intact, although primarily inactive. The debate now centers on potential legislative actions needed to formally address his controversial legacy.
