A 30-year-old man, identified as Nadeem, was apprehended on Monday in connection with a controversial video posted online concerning the 'I Love Muhammad' incident, according to local police authorities.
Nadeem, who hails from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh and operates as a cloth merchant in Mumbai, reportedly issued threats in the viral video, which sought to provoke unrest among communities, said Superintendent of Police (Rural) Aditya Bansal.
Efforts to detain Nadeem were initiated after the video gained significant traction, sparking tensions and leading to clashes in Bareilly between protesters and law enforcement. The accused faces multiple charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for actions detrimental to national unity and public order.
