In a significant move reflecting deepening ties, India's Ambassador to Spain, Jayant N Khobragade, highlighted the expansion of diplomatic relations between India and Spain. During the 'Journey with the Divine Flow' exhibition, Khobragade emphasized the growth in trade, high-level visits, and the anniversary celebration marking 70 years of bilateral engagement.

Khobragade spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 2017 visit to Spain, noting its importance in strengthening leadership ties. The ambassador said, 'Leadership-level engagement, symbolized by such visits, plays a vital role in fostering international relationships. Since Modi's visit, ties have strengthened significantly.'

The ambassador further detailed the economic collaboration, stating that bilateral trade reached nearly USD 10 billion, favoring India's exports. As 2023 marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations, both nations celebrate this milestone as the India-Spain Year of Culture, Tourism, and Artificial Intelligence. This initiative highlights the two countries' robust economic and cultural partnerships.
