Alarming Health Crisis: Gastroenteritis Outbreak Claims Lives in Karachi Village

Provincial Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho confirmed preliminary assessments that link the outbreak to contaminated food consumed during a funeral gathering over a week ago. In response, authorities have declared a health emergency across the affected region and the neighboring Malir district. Local hospitals have been put on high alert, and Rescue 1122 ambulances are on standby to prevent further fatalities.

This tragic outbreak, reminiscent of last year's similar incident in Malir, underscores the persistent issues plaguing Pakistan’s sanitation, waste management, and water supply.
