In a tragic incident, an eight-year-old boy in Kerala passed away after suffering a snakebite while he slept at his residence in Azhoor. The victim, identified as Dikshil, succumbed to the venomous bite after being taken to a local hospital, authorities confirmed.

The incident, which took place at around 2.30 am, saw the family unsuccessfully searching for the reptile after the child complained of pain. A subsequent search by neighbors uncovered an Indian spectacled cobra on the premises, pointing to the high risk of snake intrusions due to the family's temporary living conditions.

This marks yet another snakebite fatality in the region, with similar cases of an elderly woman's death in Pulimath and another child's death in Thrissur reported recently. Experts warn that the extreme heat in Kerala has increased the likelihood of snakes seeking cooler shelter, urging residents to remain vigilant.
