Karnataka's Health Revolution: Reform Amidst Allegations

Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao addressed the state assembly, focusing on the positive impact of healthcare reforms in the face of opposition allegations of mismanagement. He outlined initiatives like Griha Arogya Yojana, covering 51 lakh households, and emphasized preventive healthcare and early diagnosis.
Rao also tackled issues concerning the decline in diseases like dengue and KFD, noting maternal mortality improvements and enhanced medical facilities. Programmes such as Puneeth Rajkumar Hrudaya Jyothi and Asha Kiran have provided lifesaving treatments and eye care, respectively. Services like day-care chemotherapy and dialysis were upgraded to offer better accessibility.
Despite opposition criticisms of internal conflicts and medicine shortages, Rao assured the assembly of ongoing reforms aimed at resource optimization and infrastructure strengthening. The government's focus remains on ensuring guaranteed healthcare services, addressing budget and administrative concerns raised by opposition leader R Ashoka.
