In a recent address to the legislative assembly, Sakeena Itoo, the Minister for Health and Medical Education, confirmed that all de-addiction centres in Jammu and Kashmir are fully operational. She assured that the government is taking concrete action to tackle the drug menace that plagues the region.
The minister emphasized the crucial role played by the health and education departments alongside law enforcement agencies in actively combating drug abuse. She highlighted that drug de-addiction centres have been instructed to regulate fees to ensure affordable rehabilitation for victims.
Furthermore, Minister Itoo praised the involvement of NGOs, urging their continued support in combating this societal challenge.
