Tragedy Unfolds: Contaminated Cough Syrup Claims Young Lives
Police have arrested individuals linked to Sresan Pharma's contaminated Coldrif cough syrup, suspected of causing the deaths of 24 children in Madhya Pradesh. The arrest of a medical representative from Sresan Pharma has been made in connection to the suspected tragic deaths of 24 children linked to contaminated Coldrif cough syrup. The company had its manufacturing license revoked by Tamil Nadu state authorities, following alarming incidents.
The police operation, which conducted raids in Chhindwara, detained Satish Verma on a night rounding up of several suspects, including the owner G Ranganathan and a prescribing doctor, Dr. Praveen Soni. Additional arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.
In response to the deaths and WHO's alert, several states have banned the syrup, and Tamil Nadu's drug control verified its substandard quality. The state government has taken drastic measures by suspending drug controllers and launching an SIT to ensure accountability and prevent future tragedies.
