Kedarnath Dham All Set to Welcome Pilgrims for the 2026 Yatra
The sacred Kedarnath Dham will open its portals for the 2026 Yatra on April 22nd, marking the start of a revered pilgrimage season. The traditional Utsav Doli ritual signals the occasion, and a wave of excitement spreads through the region as preparations reach their final stages.

In an atmosphere charged with anticipation, the portals of Kedarnath Dham are set to reopen for pilgrims on April 22, 2026, at 8:00 AM. This significant event will unfold in alignment with Vedic rituals, traditional customs, and longstanding Sanatan traditions. The district is abuzz with enthusiasm as authorities finalize preparations for this revered annual pilgrimage.
The ceremonial Utsav Doli of Lord Kedarnath will embark on its journey from its winter abode at Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, following elaborate traditional rituals. As devotees gather, the temple premises are adorned with vibrant floral decorations. Custom demands that post-ceremonial aarti at Omkareshwar, a special worship is held for Bhukund Bhairav, the guardian deity of Kedarpuri.
According to the itinerary, the Utsav Doli will depart Ukhimath on April 19 and travel to Phata, before proceeding to Gaurikund the next day. There, it will rest overnight at Gaurimai Temple before continuing to Kedarnath Dham on April 21. Rituals at the temple will commence soon after, culminating in the grand opening of the temple doors on April 22. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended his best wishes to pilgrims, expressing hope for a record-breaking and prosperous Char Dham Yatra.
